Confederate soldier Pvt. Elijah L. Lawson of Co. B., 60th NC Inf Reg. Manuscript 2812 shows on 2/22/1862 that he was considered as unfit for service. Report of 8/2/1863 from Camp Hurricane shows he was detailed to a shoe shop at Columbus,Ga. from Stovall's Brigade by orders of General Bragg. Company muster roll of March and April 1864 show Elijah had died at Columbus, Ga. with no date or cause given. Any info out there concerning this mystery and to possible burial site?
