Re: 60th NC Inf Reg/ Find Elijah L. Lawson

Tim,

I would appreciate any and all help with my pursuit of the burial sites for the Lawson brothers from Madison co. N.C. who were members of the 60th N.C. Reg.
They were all conscripted in April,62 in Marshall, N.C. G.W. (George Washington) who according to papers I have, listed him as dying on 10/19/62 in Bridgeport, Tn. which is only a few miles from his home. No reason given for his death. Another paper (Confederate Arch) Chapter 10, File No. 32, page 64 shows his wife, Elizabeth as making a claim, I guess for a pension. This was on 1/11/65. I know of no battles fought by the 60th in this area. Accident or sickness?
B.F. (Benjamin Floyd) Lawson was wounded in several battles including Chickamauga, Ga. 9/30/63. In and out of the hospital from November 63 to May 64. Died in a Greensboro, Ga. hospital 7/21/64 reportedly from disease.
There was a story on the widows application for pension that a friend had been sent to the hospital to bring B.F. home but when this friend arrived, he was notified that B.F. had died and had already been buried. But where is not known.
