Re: 24th Georgia Regt., Company K

I stand corrected, in the files for James Isam Lail, is a card for Isam Layel, age 48, who was discharged for disability February 25, 1863, the service record files for the 24th Georgia contain records for both William & P. Lail (Layel).

They are all Hospital Registers. William was wounded "MB wound of the left thigh" on May 3, 1863, age 22, and admitted to Chimborazo Hospital No. 2, Richmond, Virginia May 11, and furloughed for 30 days on June 7, 1863, Remarks: Chamelouville [sp?]

There is one card under the name of James Lail of a communication, Feb. 13, 1917[12?], responding to the Georgia Pension Commission which states "Not found on rolls of Co. H." Nor found in Co. D. Adjutant Generals Office, Archives Division

The signature block in Pvt. Islam Layle contains the name, "Isam Layel", "X" "His Mark."
