The Confederate government never established pension payments to veterans or their widows. Next of kin were allowed to receive payments due deceased soldiers. I believe that's what you have in mind. Some of the documents on file suggest that such a payment was being processed, but I don't see a way to know for sure. For instance, the service file doesn't include the usual probate documents establishing relationship to the deceased or his date and place of death.
