I have inherited a Cross of Southern Honor Metal presented by the UDC to UCV. The metal is engraved on the bar with "A.L. Ellison" and is mounted on a yellow ribbon.I inherited this from my mother, whose mother was an Ellison.
I therfore believe that it was presented to my Greatgrand father. I believe his name was Adger Ellison. My Grandmother was Elizabeth Ellison and was raised in Ellerslie (sp) Georgia. This town if it still exist was north of Columbus and I believe in Harris County.
Is there anyway I can trace this soldier and perhaps find out his unit?
