Re: 6th Cav. graves of Hart and Fain Found

Tom,
I am a descendent of John M. Ownbey and James C. Wilson of the 6th Georgia Cavalry. Thanks for posting the photos of the grave sites. Let me know if you have any information on Samuel Ralston. I believe he resigned from the 6th Ga. Cav. and took a state commission and formed Ralston's Battalion, Georgia Cavalry. He became Colonel of the battalion and it served under Gen. William T. Wofford in the Dept. of North Georgia. They were surrendered at Kingston,Ga. on May 12,1865. I think this is the same Ralston but I am not 100% sure. My 3rd Great Grandfather, William Washington Honea, served in Ralston's Battalion. Hence my intereste in Samuel Ralston. I know Captain Ledger of the 6th Georgia Cavalry resigned and took a state comission and raised a battalion in North Georgia. He also served under Wofford at that time.

Thank You,
Shane Honea
