In Response To: 1st Cherokee Mtd Volunteers ()

I've found the following on the Broadfoot Roster of Confederate Soldiers. I'm still unable to identify John Bacon, though there are two other Bacons in the 1st Cher. Mtd. Vols but with different first name. Ootlenowi is undoubtedly Cherokee as the "oo" beginning to his name is almost always Cherokee.

(probably same man)
