I've discovered a "typo": the steamboat Arabia was sunk in 1856 and recovered in the 1980s. [I had transposed 1858 and 1960s.]

And just in case someone thinks that is pre-War, he/she needs to study the history of "bleeding Kansas" !!!!!!

And, another thing, which most people who study the Trans-Mississippi already know: The last Confederate general to surrender was the Cherokee leader Stand Watie, at Fort Towson/Doaksville, Choctaw Nation, in June, 1865.
