Dear Gerald,

I agree that the history of this battery deserves a great deal more research, as does Howell's battery.

I'm gonna have some news for you in a couple of days where we can discuss this info and hopefully develop some new scholarship on the Indian Territory in the Civil War.

As far as its designation as a Texas Battery I believe Ralph's muster roll denies it's being either wholly from Texas or comprised of Indians. Perhaps it should be referred to as the "Lee's/Humphrey's Indian Territory Battery" with an explanation of its mixed composition of Texans and Indians.
