Cherokee Union Soldier-Davis

My Gr., Gr., Grandfather, Charles H. Davis, (Cherokee and white)fought as a Union soldier during the Civil War. He was mustered out at Fort Gibson and became a teacher in the Mvscogee Nation (Tullahassee Mission and as far away as Wewoka in the Seminole Nation). He married Emmeline Jefferson. Children; George Davis, Mattie Davis and Charles H. Davis. He died 1882. He was reportedly the first cousin of wealthy Creek Cattle Rancher, Bluford Miller. Cannot find him on any rolls. Any information, ideas, suggestions would be appreciated.
