Battle of Welling; James McDaniel; Both Sides.

Where was the battle of Welling? At Scout Hole? I'm asking because James McDaniel fought there, and I *think* he was on both sides. If I understand, McDaniel was a Ross loyalist and Cpt. of Co D. under John Drew. After the Battle of Round Mountain, which I think took place at his land, he sided with Union Troops at Welling and Prairie Grove. Then he became a Cherokee delegate to Washington after the War and died in Washington about 1867, and is buried in Arlington Cem.

Most of this info is from an Oklahoma Historical Society Quarterly about the Battle of Round Mountain.
