I am writing a paper for a college class on the Civil War and am trying to find out what happened to the different factions of the Cherokee after the Civil War. The factions caused by the move from the east to Indian Territory eventually manifested themselves in a civil war amongst the Cherokees. What I am having difficulty finding is how this manifested intself after the war. How did the factions live together? How long were the factions still identifiable? Are there any repurcussions that are still evident? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
