There's a discussion of this on the Arkansas board. The scalping was reported as having happened at Poison Springs, I believe. There is some confusion as to whether the unit was the 1st Choctaw & Chickasaw Regiment (under Col. Tandy Walker) or perhaps the later-organized 1st Choctaw Regiment (under Col. Folsom).
