This is probably a long shot, but I am looking for biographical information about a soldier in Stand Watie's 1st Cherokee Mounted Vols. named Nickolas Johnson. He was a member of (2nd) Co. I (Captain Moses Frye), and enlisted April 12, 1863, at Coody Creek, Cherokee Nation, enrolled by Capt. John W. Wells. That's all his CSR contains. I think he might have been from Texas, but I could be wrong if he is listed as Cherokee in other sources.
