There is a Chronicles of Oklahoma article online about the history of the "MacIntoshes". I've never seen evidence of a family relationship between Col James McIntosh, 2nd Ark Mtd Rifles, and the Muscogee McIntoshes but I'm sure there must be a connection if you go back far enough (like to Noah's sons *grin*). Actually a connection back a couple of generations would not be surprising but most authors just say "no relation".
