Re: D.C. Giddeon, HISTORY OF INDIAN TERRITORY, 190

Patricia,
After re-reading the bio's I've found that the Suggs Brother where engaged in the 'Ardmorite'- a local newspaper of Ardmore Ok.In June 1897 the brother bought this leading newpaper of that time,it installed new presses, new type, new linetype machine and steampower equipment, very modern at that time.
These brothers had owned the Tompkin Machinery & Implement Co of Dallas Tx for the sum $380,000 prior to moving to I.T.
They were very likely the printers of the book by Dr Gideon who had prior to moving to I.T.(1890) worked at the Pub Co. of The Lewis Publishing Co in Chicago, they likely paid him for this book and his work on "History Of Indian Territory" but he printed at this Location in I.T.Ok.They had many other Business as stated before they had lived in Mount Pleasant Tx in 1866-1893 having moved from M.s to Tx. in 1866 at abt age 14.(B.1851-Hugh)&(1852-Sidney) Sidney was a Colonel but was to young to have been in the Civil War,the Bio does not expain this title. hope this helps! "Cheers'
