Boy, I can agree with that statement about parts being illegible. I transcribed it about a dozen years ago and let it lay fallow for lack of knowing what to do with it. I thought that the manner of the writing was interesting for a Lt. Col. of Waties regiment. It gave me an insight as to the state of the regiments literacy.
