In 1865, Watie wrote from Ft McCulloch (I believe he spells it McCullough) as Principal Chief and addressed from "Executive Office of the Cherokee Nation." I don't remember the date off hand but the letter is in Cherokee Cavaliers. I am not aware of anything that would confirm that this was also his brigade headquarters or encampment in 1865.
