Boggy Creeks: East, Little, Middle, Muddy, North
In Response To: Middle Boggy and Little Boggy ()

Ken Martin,

Define the location of the Boggy Creeks, please.

I shall try again.

In this string of postings, let us try to define the location of the creeks named "Boggy Creek" since some of the names have changed over the years. Defining the locations is critical in our study of the events of the Choctaw Nation during the War.

1) East Boggy Creek
2) Little Boggy Creek
3) Middle Boggy Creek
4) Muddy Boggy Creek
5) North Boggy Creek

Let us constuct a grid or some way to organize this data.

A personal note: My friend of 20 years, who printed my hardcover book is reknown as the definitive "Pace" family researcher, realized that the creeks in part of a county of the 1700s Virginia records were different than the same creeks of the 1600s Virginia records, so he collected all of the area deeds of both eras then redrew the maps. ..(More work than most researchers are willing to expend.)

The above paragraph may illustrate how hard it will be to sort the names of the Boggy Creeks during the 1863 era vs. what today's maps reflect. Problem is that we do not have deeds from the 1863 era. ... analogous to solving the Rubicks Cube.
