Interesting, this gives another flag for the Cherokees fighting other than the well known Cherokee Braves Stars and Bars. This also leads to a couple questions that may be unanswerable. First is strictly asthetic: was the red star a seven pointed Cherokee star? Second: is there any evidence that the members of Drew's Regiment who switched sides kept the flag minus the moon as a regimental standard?
