Map of the Boggies -- 1905

Using a 1905 map of Oklahoma and Indian Territories as a base provides much more accuracy in the locations of rivers (assuming they haven't significantly changed course). Caution is needed in the locations of towns as many towns moved to the railroad -- changing locations but not their names. Most of the towns didn't exist until the railroads came through. (There were no railroads in Indian Territory until after the Civil War.)

This map was made during the allottment process right before statehood so the entire territory has been surveyed into townships, as you can see. The MK&T "Katy" Railroad in the lower right roughly follows the route of the old Texas Road.

I didn't check to see how well the "county" boundaries match current boundaries. These were the proposed counties -- not the tribal counties and not necessarily the final state counties.
