Re: Sylvanous Howell, C.C. Alexander, Fannin Count

Curtis,
Where is the account of Flat Rock Creek? What is the book and author? The Texas Road bowed to the west, away from the river, along this stretch and the camp was adjacent to the road. I beleive the battle took place northwest of Wagoner (west of US Hwy 69), not east or northeast and not near the mouth of Flat Rock Creek. I read recently about a soldier headed from Leavenworth to Ft Arbuckle after the war and they camped in the area. They found skulls and skeletons in the 'lagoons' near the road.
