Ken Martin and I are descended from three (3) separate Martin families. My surname Martin family was in Heltonville, Lawrence County, Indiana during the Civil War. They moved from East Tennessee in the late 1830's and prior to 1800 these Martins were from Virginia & North Carolina. Five of seven Martin brothers fought in the Civil War in various Indiana regiments in the Trans-Mississippi and Western theaters of the war.

I am aware of the Martin family at Cabin Creek, but I don't believe I'm related, except maybe way back there somewhere.
