Your book mentions that 200 or 300 Free black and runaway slaves were thought to be on the Canadian River in Cherokee the Cherokeee nation.

Do you have any references on that other than this?

Also it had to be in the Cherokee Outlet as the Canadian River North or South stays in the Creek Nation until it gets into Central Oklahoma. The North Canadian travels North West up into the panhandle. But the South travels west from Oklahoma City to Amarillo,,,
