1st Co. I, 1st Choctaw & Chickasaw Mtd Rifles

I haven't had time to compare to other rosters but linked below is a listing of 1st Co. I, 1st Choctaw & Chickasaw Mtd Rifles. A significant number of these men were originally in McKittrick's Denton Rangers in March/April 1861.

The company was enrolled on June 2, 1861 at Ft Arbuckle with a couple of men showing June 15, 1861. From some of the remarks, it appears they moved to the vicinity of Ft Washita and/or Boggy Depot by early July. Also shown in the remarks, there are a very few that show "mustered in" July 8th. This may coincide with Terry Oquin's information that they were at or near Nail's Bridge in early July.

Nail's Bridge, for those unfamiliar, was on Blue River on the Texas Road/Butterfield Stage Route between Boggy Depot and Colbert's Ferry on the Red River. Ft McCulloch was established just east of Nail's in early 1862.

From Grant Foreman's transcription of CSRs:

1st Choctaw and Chickasaw Mounted Rifles
1st Company I

Enlisted June 2, 1861 for 12 months.
Accepted into service of C.S. for 12 months from July 26, 1861.
Re-enlisted in 1862 and was assigned as Co. E, 29th Texas Cavalry (47 men of the company appear on the roster of Co. E., 29th TX Cav).
