Vance Hawkins,
Your George W. Bull is not listed in McKittrick's Texas Company of Mounted Denton Rangers organized in May 1861. He was probably acquainted with some of McKittrick's men and simply rode with them to Fort Arbuckle for the Jun 2, 1861 muster Company "I" of Choctaw-Chickasaw Mtd. Rifles that became Company "E" of the 29th Texas Cavalry when their one-year enlistment was up. The 29th Texas Cavalry was commanded by Charles DeMorse, editor of THE NORTHERN STANDARD, Clarksville, Red River County, TX
