Re: McKittrick; 29th TX Cav. vs. 1st Choctaw-Chick

I have seen David B Brown's name written as D. B. Brown before. I had him in 8th Arkansas before mid 1862, he was taken POW at Corinth, Ms, parolled 8 days later and then he just disapears off the face of the earth. We hear he died May 1865 cause unknown. If this is wrong I'd like to know more. He was my great great grandpa.

I also know my great grandparents (Jeff Richey and Josie Brown) had many children -- Etta, William, Oscar, Swaney, Lona (grandma), Beatrice, Otho, Hoten -- not sure if that is the right order but part of it is.

Their descendants live in Jackson, Tillman, Kiowa, Greer, Caddo, Grady County, that I know of, and some might also be in Stephens County, where we started! :) I'd love to contact some descendants of some of Grandma's brothers and sisters. We had a "Richey Family Reunion" when I was a kid that was held on the shore near Lake Quanah Parker in Wichita Mountian Wildlife Refuge. Dad, while in the Civillian Conservation Corps during the dust bowl of the 30's-- helped build many of the dams and trails and campsites in the Wildlife Refuge. Unfortunately, in the 70s, dopers took over many campsites, and as a result many previous campsites were torn down and overnight camping was prohibited except for a few places, or with special permission. I think that is when the family reunions ended. Those old campgrounds where we held the Richey family reunion when I was a child have been torn down and are no longer there. Also the older generation that knew one another as "cousins" are no longer around. So I have lost track of many of those relatives, and I don't know where they are. I am sure there may very well be some descendants in or near Duncan.

I just looked up my census records -- Tarlton Bull is on Denton Co, Tx census 1870, on 1880 and 1900 census in Eastland Co., Tx (as is George who died about 1901), and on 1910 and 1920 census Tarlton is in Murray County, Ok. Some of his desncendants -- those descended from his second wife Sarah Ann Brown, are also descended from D B Brown. I have never seen an 1890 census record of any kind, for any state or territory.

I'd love to get in contact with this person. I am also interested in finding out more about your book. PLEASE tell me more about it! :)
