Is sponsoring a lecture by Billy Ratcliff over the causes and steps leading up to the start of the Civil War in1861.
Billy Ratcliff teaches full time for the Department of Defense. He also serves as an Adjunct Professor for the University of Maryland University College. There he teaches various history classes including Western Civilization and U.S. History. He has a BA in History, a BA in English, and a MS in Behavioral Science.
This will be a 2-3 hour power point presentation over causes, steps, and tensions leading to the start of the Civil War. There will be brief discussions over the Missouri Compromise, Compromise of 1850, Kansas-Nebraska Act, John Brown’s raid, Uncle Tom’s Cabin, and several other topics.
