O.H.S. Vol. 20 pg. 51-(53) stated the following;
Stephens Co. There was a battle between Confed. Soldiers from Ft Arbuckle and a band of Comanche Indians in the Southwest part of the County,on Beaver Creek in 1862.
The Confed. were looking for wild horses and were attacked by the Comanches. Many relic's of the battle were found by Homesteader's in 1901.
Does any one have any additional infor. as too this attack?
The Comanches had signed a treaty with Pike early on,but then like other's tribes, stayed out of any commitment,I'm sure this soured any future with the Confed. cause.
