William H Davis (Pg. 233)
b. Flint Dist. April 8,1838 S/O William A Davis (M.D.) & Mary Burns Dau of Artur Burns who married a Lowry. Dr W.A. Davis attented Mrs Ridge when the killing of John Ridge happened.
Emi. 1838-Tahlequah Seminary-grad with "Chief" Mayes & Dr. Campbell. Post War-- Teacher-Married Eliz Lowry (6 children)
Confed: Enlisted in Stand Watie's Cherokee Regiment-until end of 1861--next he joined Bryant's Battalion and was transfered to the Second Cherokee Regiment under Col. W.P. Adair where he served as commissary of the Regiment--he was recommended for brigade Commissary, but the wart closed before he received his commission.
No W.H.Campbell found the W.H.(Davis) as this a maybe?
Robert L Cochran(Frisco) may of been a Sutler--this was a Military (Store Owner & Agent by appointment-supply's',cattle
Ect.)as the event's unfolded in the war this was a impossible position, to have most of them re-signed?
