Memoirs of Honey Spgs by Peck; thanks Curtis Payne

Ken Martin,

I want to credit our friend, Curtis Payne of Tulsa OK, for transcribing Robert Morris Peck's "Memoirs of the Battle of Honey Springs," an excerpt from WAGON BOSS AND MULE MECHANIC about the 3rd Indian Home Guard that is posted on:

Robt Peck's memoirs of Honey Springs

It should also be noted that Curtis Payne of Tulsa OK laboriously researched and published THUNDERING CANNONS, HOWELL'S TEXAS BATTERY IN THE INDIAN NATIONS. Few understand how hard it is to make sense of these records, but Curtis has.

Sylvanous Howell was Col. James Bourland's attorney in an 1854 Fannin Co TX case.
.
Several researchers have questioned me through the years about Howell’s Battery because they knew that I studied the Fannin Co TX area.
