Re: To Terry E. Justice . . . re: 3rd IHG

I have only just today got back to working on a manuscript for the whole IHG. In doing a regimental work it is seldom a seller for publishers. In the case of the IHG we now have quite a collection of material that should be publishable. I have transcribed the Day book by Capt. Phillips with the exception of the muster out sheet which is a very detailed and complex piece of work. I should have that done soon and will put it out there for anyone who would like a copy of the material. It contains the muster out information of the company to include men who were lost during the war. Some names fill in holes about indian losses such as First Newtonia. Otherwise if you send me your email address I will forward the transciption of the complete daybook by attachment. Phillips was very self-conscious of his position and the accuracy of his accounting is very good. He took over the company in Mid-1863 and therefore the papers only cover that period until Muster Out in May 1865.
