Ken ,sorry its taken so long to get back, been gone researching. I don't know alot about Lewis Cunnigan, Oo-la-tes-kee. His father was o-law-nah-ti-ski "Whooping Boy" Lewis Cunnigan was at one time married to my great-greatgrandmother,Cathrine,Hildebrand,Bailey, then Cunnigan. Catherine was the daughter of Peter Hildebrand who was a friend of John Ross and he lead a detachment on the trail. His son Lewis W Hildebrand was a supporter of John Ross and during the Civil War, He was part of that group of Cherokee refugee Indians who took safety at Camp Dry Wood,Kansas. This is according to an article about Hildebrands by Robert Lee Fleming. My Great grandmother Elan O'field's husband fought with Stand Watie. [Johnson O'field} I would love to find out where she spent the civil War. The Hildebrands and O'fields lived close together in Delaware district. [grand River] Got any suggestions where I could start looking? Looking forward to Sat. reenactment.
