Re: John A McCoy Choctaw and Chickasaw Mounted R

Ken, Thank you for the information! The little I have on John A McCoy is that he was born in the Yowani Choctaw village in the Republic of Texas in 1840. The village was north of Nacogdoches. John's father, William, was supposedly killed by white vigilantes in 1840. I had that John died in 1872 in Hugo Ok but have not been able to verify that. Have been trying to locate a cemetery where he may have been buried. Since Goodland mission is in Hugo it would make since that he is buried nearby. Thanks again for your quick reply. El
