Descendants of Chief William McIntosh

Jay,
.
Your McIntosh family is sort of outlined in an article that I edited for STIRPES, the quarterly for the Texas State Genealogical Society. ..It is about the half-sister of Daniel N. McIntosh. ..Notice the "McIntosh" and "Indian Territory" entries in my Index.

Immediately below is part of my "Friday, 28 September 2007, at 10:37 a.m." posting. ..Also, search this forum for "Billie Jane McIntosh" who has written two books about her Chilly McIntosh family.

I thought some of you would be interested in a well-researched article by Charles Steger of Atlanta, Cass County, Texas, so I put it on my web site ... well, I tried to put it on my web site. ..This 21-page article features 65 detailed endnotes and a 4-page index.
.
Charles said that Rebecca McIntosh Hawkins Hagerty spent a substantial part of her life in three Texas courthouses since her name dominates the records. ..Also, part of this family was buried on the Honey Springs Battlefield. ..Charles has beautifully coordinated his McIntosh family history, research in Texas counties, and the results of archaeological digs to correct secondary sources.
