I cannot find other evidence to colaborate the location given in Civil War Sites in Oklahoma (Wright & Fischer). This is a wonderful little book but caution is needed as there are some significant inaccuracies in the book. It appears they made assumptions without adequate research and sometimes the legal descriptions seem like they just picked one in the vicinity.

This legal description places 'the battle' on the south side of Flat Rock Creek (actually south of now Flat Rock Bay). Other postings on this topic would point to what is now Battle Creek (formerly Nigger Creek) just north and northeast of Wagoner two to three miles.
