Sir, currently I'm transcribing hospital rolls at Ft Scott Historic Site for a database which will later be placed on the site's website. A question has arisen-what is the proper method of cataloging Indian names such as 'Coming Deer', 'Chickasaw Killer' & 'Deer in Water'? Does one do the conventional method of "surname, given name" or does one leave them as they are when creating a "roster" and/or index? Thank you very much for your input.
