Great source of information! Google the above and then go to their 1851-1980 archives section. While no illustrations, I found a wealth of period pieces on Fort Gibson and the war in the Territory. If, after a awhile, you get kicked off the site (they want you to sign up for the free membership-something I hesitate to do, what with popups, etc.), log out of the site and then log back onto it for a few more minutes of searching and copying. For my research,I will copy and then double check the microfilm of the NYT for illustrations at the Tulsa City County Library downtown. I stumbled into this archive and hope that others will benefit from it. It certainly is a windown into the period, even if we know some of the information is incorrect.
