Wiley Britton mentioned that, in 1863, a young Confederate spy was captured while wearing women's clothing, at or very near Fort Gibson. He stated that the young man was probably to be taken out to the nearby prairie and shot. Was this done? Is there a courtmartial transcript? Who was he and what unit? If he, indeed, paid the ultimate sacrifice and we know his name, then perhaps a monument needs to be created to honor him.
