If my memory is correct, the Chronicles of Oklahoma had a series of articles on the early postal system published during the 1920s. When I was working as an intern in the Oklahoma State Historical Society Archives I found some post war documentation about the postal system during the war, I think for both sides including postmasters and various post offices. I currently don't remember the accession number on these items to aid in a request.
