Ken, Thanks,I've looked this over with interest in his commit but I think by in the Date of April 1865 that this was as you stated Military correspondence-however --
The Rebel's did have mail service in the area's they controled until 1863-64 until they no longer got paid,it's puzzling to me why,with bullet's flying,towns,homes,burning and they still had Mail routes and P.O.it looks like they just stopped and changed_(deleted) the route's if they lost a area's (like Ft Gibson in I.T.)or by some other means got the mail though the lines?
By the time of Indian refugee Camps Mail service was no longer needed,the really was no (good) news anyway except war-- who was alive,or dead.Union,Confed.& families
