Patti,
.
Thank you for the post concerning this topic! ..I’m eating Crow this evening since I had just posted to the effect that I didn’t think that this event was actual.
.
This definitely gives it more credibility. ..These ladies seem to all be from the Jackson County, MO area.
.
“Mrs. Mattie J. Yagee, wife of Capt. Yagee, with Col. Quantrell;” would properly be Mrs. Martha J. (Muir) Yager/Yeager. ..At that date she would be the Widow of Col. Richard Francis “Dick” Yager/Yeager. Dick was my kin.

Martha J. Muir Yager had escaped harm in the Collapse of the Union Jail for Women in Kansas City, MO, on August 13,1863. ..Her husband was Capt. Richard Francis “Dick” Yager/Yeager. ..Dick was killed Aug 12, 1864 in Saline County, Missouri. ..Charity McCorkle Kerr, Martha’s 1st cousin once removed (by marriage) was killed in the same Collapse of the Union Jail for Women.
.
GENERAL ORDER #11 was Issued on Aug 25, 1863. ..The date of the event at Boggy Depot was Oct. 14, 1863.
