I do believe, upon recalling "family" tales told while sitting on the front porch and "being seen and not heard" while the "grownups" visited, that both of my GreatGrandmother's husbands were with the 29th that day.
My GGrandmother's second husband being my GreatGrandfather.
James William Barnes was her first husband and, after the war, was "killed by white people" in Canadian Township, Choctaw Nation, in 1880, whereupon she married his best friend, "Grandpa" Lorenzo Dow Hendricks in 1881 in Brooken, Choctaw Nation.
Also with these two that day was my OTHER GreatGrandfather, William Payne, originally of the Choctaw Mounted (as was, I believe, Barnes and Hendricks although I have not encountered "proof" thereof).
My GGrandmother later went on to collect her CSA pension from the State of Oklahoma due to L D Hendricks' service.
Please forgive me if I am incorrect in my reccollections but I suffer from some residuals from another war, in another place and time and my memory fails me, often.
Thank you.
