Y'all are going to get me digging again. I think I have some info on Scalesville. If my memory serves me (it often does not), it is named for Joseph A. Scales, a Cherokee, who apparently lived there or maybe owned the store there.

On an old map, Perryville was also called Toboxy (I assume not the original town that was burned but the water stop of the post-war railroad). It appears in Grant Foreman's list of post offices that Buckluxy is the same as or is nearby Scalesville. In the book "Ghost Towns of Oklahoma" is a reference that says Scalesville was a store, blacksmith, and a couple of residences. Not much of a town but a known landmark.

I think the Indian-Pioneer Papers (WPA Federal Writers Project) may be a good source for more info. Anyone frequent the library at NSU-Tahlequah or OHS in OKC?
