Re: Major A.S. Cabell, AQM; Wells' Battn ?

My reasoning is:

The entries for the period "30 Jun 62-30 Jun 63" where written on or about June 30, 1863 when A.S. Cabell was a major as is therefore referred to as "Major Cabell".

The reference to the men being on detached service tells us they were detached as of June 30, 1863 but doesn't necessarily mean they were on detached service the whole period. Merely that at some time between June '62 and June '63, A.S. Cabell used them as teamsters.

Algernon Sidney Cabell was in Bonham during this time period. His older brother, Wm.L. Cabell was east of the Mississippi, then chief quartermaster in Little Rock, then back to field command around Ft Smith during this time.

So... Does this family pronounce their name "CA-bell" (like cable TV) or "ca-BELL" (like Cabela's Sporting Goods)?
