I certainly would NOT argue that there is no place else that could have been called "Little Boggy", just that location near the site of the junction of the Texas Road and the Ft Smith-Boggy Depot road is commonly mentioned in the ORs and seems to me the more likely place in Sept 1863 for a camp of white troops -- that is, watching the approaches from Ft Gibson (via Perryville) or from Ft Smith to protect the Confederate supply depots at Boggy Depot and Ft Washita. Phillips' Feb 1864 expedition was a surprise with little opposition because it did NOT come down one of these roads.
