Looking for information on the civil war service of this interesting physician, lawyer and post war peer of Col A. Slayback in St. Louis.
He apparently was well traveled in the southwest prior to the war. Studied at Lexington MO and did law and medicine at Yale in the late 40s and 50s. Apparently moved with family (Father was Lewis Beck) to central Missouri from Lawrence Co. Indiana in the early 30's.
Any help appreciated.
Involved in Indian claim for cousin Preston Beck Jr against Navajo tribe in New Mexico / Santa Fe. (well documented and I have) and is reported to have traveled extensivley throughout OK, TX, NE, CO before the war.
