Re: James Preston Beck (cross post from MO)

Thanks Guys!

I'm looking for a "Dr Beck" that was a bushwacker or some such "notorious person" that was apparently killed on a raid on Calhoun, Henry County MO in summer of 1864. I've not found anyone that fits very well in Henry Co or for that matter most of Missouri. I stumbled on James Preston Beck; 1) He had OK TX connections, 2) was of Southern proclivities, 3)had a medical degree and the reputation to be a leader. Minor problem he wasn't killed in 1864.... So now I have a whole 'nuther line of Becks to work from Indian Territory, which is fine.
