.
The 1st Company ‘I’ of the First Choctaw and Chickasaw Mounted Rifles enrolled June 2, 1861 at Fort Arbuckle, Chickasaw Nation, I.T. (now Garvin County OK) for 12 months, then was mustered July 26, 1861 near Scullyville, Choctaw Nation (now LeFlore County OK). At the end of their 12-month enlistment this company became Company ‘E’ in DeMorse’s 29th Texas Cavalry. Many of Captain Otis G.
