Trying to prove a link to a Confederate soldier for possible membership in the SCV. Got a few friends who are helping with this, because I have very little experience with genealogy searches. These searches are on my mothers side of the family. My great-great grandfather may be the link I am looking for. If my gg-grandfather is the link then I am wondering if anyone using this forum may have access to his service record or advise me where to get it. He may have served in Co. D, 1st Choctaw and Chickasaw Mounted Rifles.
Here is the info that I now have:
MY GRANDMOTHER: Hattie Lou Beams, 5-8-1906, McAlester, OK. She was the daughter of 2.
George Washington BEAMS and 3. Sallie Rosalie HOLLOWAY. Hattie passed away in 1971

MY GREAT GRANDFATHER: George Washington BEAMS was born 24 MAR 1868 in Indian Territory, and died 26 OCT 1933 in McAlester Oklahoma. He was the son of 4. Isom BEAMS and 5. Mary JOHNSON.

I have linked to a document on my Website. A friend from Mississippi sent it to me. In case the link doesn't work then here it is: http://www.civilwaralbum.com/indian/beams1.jpg. It has some numbers that may be of use to someone that has service records on cd.
